Good communication skills are essential for success in life. Starting early and working in partnership with parents and children is the key. Let’s do this together.
Children develop the foundations for their communication skills in the first 5 years of life.
With this in mind, if you have any concerns about your child’s speech and language skills it is important to address them while they are in their early years and before they start primary Schooling.
My name is Joanne and I am The Smarties ELC Speech Pathologist.
It is exciting for me to share my passion for developing children’s communication with the children, families and staff at Smarties ELC. I completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Speech Pathology at the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University.
I started my company, Ms Speech Therapy in 2019 focusing on assessment and therapy for children aged between 0-5 years; specialising in speech, language, school readiness and stuttering therapy. With several years of experience as a Speech Pathologist working in private and public clinics across Sydney in many childcares and different settings, I bring a fresh approach to supporting children with language and communication needs through early education.
I will be available for clients at Smarties ELC to assess children’s strengths and needs, advise parents and staff on ways to support speech and language skills and make sure that strategies are implemented in both the home and childcare setting.

We work with children from birth to all ages with difficulties in either their speech, language skills or social skills.
